THE TEMPORAL MACHINE
FALL 2024
The Temporal Machine is a museum that manifests as an architectural
mechanism—an interplay of temporality, shift, frame, and movement.
The design captures the fluid essence of time through spaces that transform, shift, and frame moments of memory. Visitors engage in a choreographed procession where the architecture itself evolves, reconfiguring and framing their experiences dynamically.
Temporal shifts are expressed through movable walls, adjustable lighting, and mechanical elements that create constantly changing perspectives. Frames, both literal and metaphorical, guide the perception of transient moments, anchoring them within an ever-changing narrative.
The Process.
The design investigated the idea of temporality through different iterations of models, drawdels, sketches, and infinity drawings that became the base of the final outcome

The project situated itself in the context of Central Park in New York, with the idea of sensing time through installation in the realm of Boullee's Cenotaph of Tourenne.
